Dharamshala, Dec 10 (UNI) One person was killed and 60 others injured, 20 of them seriously, after an overcrowded private bus, in which they traveling, overturned near 32 Miles in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh early today, police today said.
Kangra ASP Prem Lal said, the bus was on its way to Dharamshala from Lanj when the driver of the bus failed to negotiate a sharp curve near 32 Miles, about 40 km from here and overturned, killing 24-year-old youth and injuring 60 others.
The deceased, identified as Rashpal of Kuthaid village, died on the spot.
Five of the seriously injured passengers have been admitted to the Dr Rajender Prasad Medical College at Tanda, near Kangra here, while 16 were admitted in CHC Shahpur and three others at PHC Kotla, he said.
He said all the remaining injured were discharged after first aid from different hospitals of the area.
The bus driver has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under various sections of the IPC, he added.
