Jabalpur, Dec 10: Rashtriya Janta Dal President and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav today said Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi would have been behind bars if his party were ruling the country.

Mr Yadav gave the statement while replying to a question by mediapersons before waving green flag to the Jabalpur-New Delhi bi-weekly train here today.

He said incidents such as 'Operation Kalank' taking place during Mr Modi's regime was too much. The whole world knew about Mr Modi and Congress President Sonia Gandhi did not speak something new about him.

''Mr Modi should have been in jail for whatever happened during his tenure as Chief Minister,'' the RJD leader said.

Feigning ignorance about boycotting of local trains by passengers in Mumbai today, he said there was no dearth of local trains in Mumbai and hundreds of trains plied daily.

Mr Yadav said his party's alliance with the Congress would continue not only in Bihar but the whole country.

He said describing Lord Rama and Lord Krishna as mythological characters was wrong. Lord Rama and Lord Balaji are worshipped in Chennai also.
