Missing man's body found floating in well, paramour held

Farrukhabad, Dec 10: The Special Operation Group (SOG) of police has recovered the body of a missing man floating in a well here. Sanjeev Gupta -- an assistant clerk at Cooperative Department -- went missing under suspicious circumstances from Kayamganj area of the city on December 1.

On a tip-off, policemen recovered his body from a well in Yaqubganj area late last evening.

''Sanjeev had a love affair with a girl student. The victim was last seen on December 1, when he had gone to meet his paramour,'' police today said.
''His body bore several wounds, and prima facie, it appeared, he was prodded with a sharp-edged weapon in stomach,'' police added.

Meanwhile, four people, including Sanjeev's lover and her parents, had been arrested and were being grilled. Investigation was on.
