Kapurthala, Dec 10 (UNI) Bholath Congress MLA and District Congress Committee President Sukhpal Singh Khaira today demanded the inclusion of Bholath, Begowal and Dhilwan, all nagar panchayats, under the Urban Infrastructure Development scheme.

In a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Mr Khaira said the Punjab government had selected 42 small and medium towns, including nagar panchayats, under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission of the central government for its over all development ignoring the nagar panchayats of Dhilwan, Begowal and Bholath.

"Bholath assembly constituency is one of the most rural dominated areas of Punjab and is mostly dominated by backward and scheduled castes and none of the nagar panchayats have the basic amenities of safe drinking water, sewerage, street lights and disposal of waste water," he said.
