Bangalore, Dec 10 (UNI) Claiming that a Congress wave is rafting across Karnataka, the party today said that the Janandholana campaign it launched last week had received tremendous response.

Party spokesman and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee General Secreary V S Ugrappa told newsmen here that the programme had drawn huge crowds in the Districts of Chitradurga, Shimoga an Davangere, indicating that the party would meet with a good success at the hustings.

Mr Ugrappa said that the 'Janandholana' programmes organised to create awareness about the misdeeds of the previous JD(S)-BJP coalition government in the state, evoked overwhelming response. The party state leaders including KPCC president Mallikarjuna Kharge, former Chief Minister N Dharam Singh and others have addressed public meetings.

He said that the next round of Janandholana programme would be held in Bidar, Raichur, Koppal and Gulbarga districts and it will be followed by other districts.

Referring to recent visit of Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda to Tiptur towh which had witnessed communal clashes recently Mr Ugrappa questioned why Mr Gowda did not make it a point to visit Mangalore where large scale communal riots had taken place while his son was the Chief Minister of the state. "Mr Gowda's visit to Tiptur has unmasked his double standard and opportunistic way politics" he criticised.
