I will cont to take decisions as per const provisions: Razi

Ranchi, Dec 10 (UNI) Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi today said he always acted as per constitutional provisions in his three year stint.

'' I never regret any decision taken during my gubernatorial stint in the state. I will continue to take decisions as per constitution in future too,'' he said.

Mr Razi said this on the sidelines of a luncheon hosted at Raj Bhavan to mark completion of three years as Governor.

The beginning of Mr Razi at Raj Bhavan was marked by high political drama that saw Mr Sibu Soren of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha as Chief Minister for nine days and finally Mr Arjun Munda (BJP) had to parade his ''loyal'' legislators before the former President A P J Abdul Kalam to prove his majority to replace Mr Soren.

Today, Mr Razi said he was never a person who regretted his decisions since they were taken in accordance to constitutional provisions.

''Pundits are available to interpret the Constitution and even sometimes the Apex is seen differing from High Court verdict,'' he said while replying to reporters' queries if he had any regrets on taking wrong decision as the first citizen of the state.

Asked about his success, Mr Razi said it was not for him to glorify his performance and left it to the public to take their own view.

On schedule V, he said it was again a politically sensitive issue as he was not in a position to say if he was satisfied with its porgress.

''If I say I am not satisfied, it will create controversy and I cannot say I am satisfied,'' he said.

Regarding Schedule V, Mr Razi said he advised the Tribals Advisory Council to hold regular meeting and report to him accordingly.

However, on his mission to improve on education system in the state he said a lot of activities were taking in the three universities--Ranchi University, Sidhu Kano University and Vinoba Bhave University--in the past few months.

The government was doing its bit to facilitate better educational ambience but ''we have opened corpus fund in the universities so that we do not have to go to the government all the time'', he said.

The RU had now corpus fund of Rs eight crore while the Vinoba Bhave got about Rs 12 crore.

''We help student of BPL family in education from that fund'', Mr Razi said.

Besides, visiting professors were introduced in the universities with the RU opening chair for course on journalism. Mr Manohar Mishra, a veteran journalist from Bihar, was the visiting proffesor to do his bit here.

Mr Razi evaded all questions concerning politics and concluded his informal chat saying, ''Jharkhand is rich, people are good but most of them are poor''.

''You (read journalist) now interprete what I mean to say'', Mr Razi quipped.
