Shimla, Dec 10 (UNI) Launching a tirade against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, the BJP today said his autocratic style of functioning has ruined the state.
Talking to mediapersons here today, party's election committee's chairman Ram Swaroop Sharma said due to his autocratic functioning he had failed to secure adequate funds for the state's development.
He said despite Congress Governments in both the state, Mr Singh failed to get any financial package for the state from the Centre.
''It was only during the previous BJP Government led by Prem Kumar Dhumal that a financial package of Rs 3,000 crore and a special industrial package was given to Himachal by the NDA Government.'' Mr Sharma said his decision to remove former ministers Chadresh Kumari, Vijai Singh Mankotia and Brij Bihari Butail from the cabinet was a proof of his autocratic style of functioning.
Citing any example, he said the removal of the BJP legislators from the House on demanding a discussion on widespread corruption in the state during Mr Singh's tenure as chief minister was proof of his style of functioning.
Mr Singh was the ''costliest'' chief minister of the state ever as he was maintaining two houses in Shimla, the maintenance of which was being carried out at the government's expense.
