Two dead, three injured in road accident
Kohima, Dec 09 (UNI) At least two persons were killed and three others injured, one of them seriously, when their taxi met with an accident on National Highway 39 near Phesama last night.
Official sources said here today that the victims were travelling from the Naga Heritage Village at Kisama, when the taxi skidded off the road and rolled down 15 metres below the road, killing two of the passengers on the spot and injuring three others.
The driver, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, sustained minor injuries and fled the scene of accident. However, he later surrendered before the police.
Police registered a case and investigation was on, the sources added.
