Police recover arms, looted money

Ongole, Dec 9 (UNI) Police today recovered one AK 47 rifle, Rs 7.41 lakh in cash and 9.475 kg gold worth more than Rs one crore from two places, based on the information given by the arrested CPI (Maoist) Guntur and Prakasham Districts Secretary N Panduranga Reddy alias Sagar.

Talking to newspersons here, District Superintendent of Police Naveen Chand said one AK 47 rifle, two magazines and 60 rounds of live ammunition were recovered. They were posessed by the Maoist leader and seized from Vayalpadu village of Podili mandal. The gold and cash were recovered from two dumps at Chintalachenchuguda village of Dornala mandal, The gold and money were looted from 'Chaitanya Grameena Bank' at Pedakonda in Guntur District and State Bank of Hyderabad at Dondapadu in Nolgonda District, recently.

Meanwhile, Sagar's wife Mary alias Madhavi, who was arrested in Chennai recently was brought to the district and produced before Giddalore first class Magistrate. She was remanded to judicial custody.

Sagar was arrested by the district police last week and produced before the Markapuram majistrate, who sent him to judicial custody.
