Gorakhpur, Dec 9 (UNI) Almost 2,600 students of Deen Dayal Upadhyay University will be affected, following non-functioning of 28 paid seat courses.

According to official sources, the decision was taken at a varsity administration meeting today.

It was decided that no course would be run without permission of the Uttar Pradesh government.

Four months back, the university had sold forms worth Rs 12 lakh for entrance tests of various paid seat courses. The entrance test dates had also been announced. But, former Vice Chancellor (VC) Arun Kumar was removed from service by UP Governor and Chancellor T V Rajeswar on August 12.

Later, the acting VC Arun Kumar Mittal decided to run these courses. In another significant decision, posts of chief coordinator, coordinator and assistant coordinator of several paid seat courses had also been abolished.
