Hoshiarpur, Dec 9 (UNI) The supporters of Chairperson of the National Commission for Safai Karamcharis (NCSK) Santosh Chowdhary and her husband, former MLA, Ram Lubhaya blocked vehicular traffic for more than half-an-hour at Piplanwala on Hoshiarpur-Jalandhar road this evening to show their resentment against Chief Parliamentary Secretary (CPS) and SAD MLA, Mohinder Kaur Josh.

The protest followed an altercation between Karamjit Singh Babloo, son of the CPS and his security guards earlier in the day.

Mrs Chowdhary alleged that she and her husband and their gunmen were threatened by Babloo for blowing the hooter of her official vehicle while they were passing through a lane adjoining the residence of Mrs Josh in the town. She was on her way to Piplanwala village when the incident took place.

The protestors raised slogans against Mrs Josh and her son and demanded registration of a case against the mother and son and their arrest.

Mrs Chowdhary told mediapersons that she had recently shifted her residence to Piplanwala. She was a chairperson of the NCSK set up by the Union government and had a status of a state minister, she added.

She alleged that when the driver of her official vehicle sounded the hooter near the residence of Mrs Josh, her son alongwith the security guards came out and ordered her to stop playing the hooter before his house. Later Mrs Josh also came out and allegedly started using unparliamentary language against her and her husband and threatening them, Mrs Chowdhary alleged.

She said that she would request the Chief Minister to sack Mrs Josh from her post for this behaviour. She also demanded registration of acase against the mother and her son. She claimed to have brought the incident to the notice of the state DGP and it was only on his assurance that she later decided to lift the blockade.

Countering the charges, Mrs Josh charged the NCSK chairperson of using foul langauge against her and threatening her.

SP (H) Opinderjit Singh Ghuman when contacted said that the police had not received any complaint from Mrs Chowdhary as yet.

After the complaint is received, a thorough investigation would be done and thereafter action would be taken accordingly, he added.
