Medal tally reaches 21 for Indian powerlifters in Commonwealth event

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) Indian men added two more medals, to swell the country's medal haul to 21 on the fourth and final day in the Commonwealth Powerlifting Championship in Christchurch in New Zealand today.

India today won a silver and a bronze, each adding to their previous days' tally.

Indrapreet bagged a silver medal in the seniors +125kg category with a total lift of 740kgs.

Jeeven Kumar lifted 635kg to pocket a bronze in the seniors 110kg, a release of the Indian Powerlifting Federation said.

Till yesterday, Indian men had won 11 medals including six gold adding to the eight medals won by their female counterparts on the opening day.

India has now won a total of 21 medals - 11 gold, six silver and four bronze.
