Bangalore, Dec 9 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Legislative Council H K Patil today urged Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to take steps to hold the Common Entrance Test (CET), for admission to professional courses in the state over two days instead of one.

In a letter to the Governor, copy of which was released to the press here, he said the Karnataka education authority's decision to hold CET in one day for the academic year 2008-09 was impractical and against the interests of the student community.

Stating that conducting of the CET for one day would put the candidates under mental pressure in facing three papers in a single day, he said ''the decision of the education authority will be detrimental to the interest of the rural students, who have no access to any kind of coaching for CET.''
