Goa win 3 gold in junior national Taekwondo championship

Margao, Dec 8 (UNI) Goa stole the limelight in the three-day 27th boys and girls Junior National Taekwondo championship, held at Multipurpose hall Fatorda in south Goa, by winning 3 gold medals on the second day today.

Goa were followed by Haryana with two and Punjab, Karnataka and Mizoram with one each.

For the host, two medals came in the girls events and one in the boys event. J Kavita and Sharol Ferandes clinched the medals in the Bantam and Heavyweight categories respectively, while P Anand bagged in the Middle weight boys category.

For Haryana, Jag Parvesh in the Heavyweight boys category and Shalika Rani in the Middle weight girls category claimed the gold.

Vishal Arya of Punjab won in Bantam boys category, Rekha Devi of Karnataka and V Vall A H Riata of Mizoram pocketed gold each in Welter girls and boys categories.
