Deve Gowda urges Governor to defeat communal forces

Bangalore, Dec 9: Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal(S) National President H D Deve Gowda has urged Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to defeat the communal forces which were trying to polarise the Karnataka society. In a letter sent to Karnataka Governor, a copy of which was released to media here today, Mr Gowda has referred the recent communal clashes which erupted at Tiptur in Tumkur district recently in which members of the minorities were targeted by the Sangh Parivar activists.

Stating that the violence which broke out recently in Tiptur was a planned and deliberate exercise to divide the peace-loving people of Karnataka by Sangh Pariwar Mr Gowda cautioned that it was designed to flare up communal feelings in the backdrop of the coming assembly elections in the State.

Strongly defending his action to withdraw support to BJP Government in Karnataka Mr Gowda informed the Governor that it had helped to prevent BJP to convert Karnataka as another Hindutva laboratory.
