Delhi- UP match ends in a draw, UP leads the table

New Delhi, Dec 9 (UNI) The last match between Uttar Pradesh (UP) and Delhi ended in a draw with both teams scoring a goal each in the 4th region-II Women's championship played at Shivaji stadium here today.

Delhi's Prem scored the first goal in the 22nd minute and just when they were looking set for a win in this all crucial tie, UP equalled the score with a fine goal by Nagma Parveen.

The goal came at the right time for UP as only nine minutes were remaining for the end of full time.

Both the teams have performed well in the tournament and had equal number of wins for them, though, UP had the better winning margins against their opponents. The draw now gives UP the first place ahead of Delhi with Uttranchal and Rajasthan taking the third and fourth spot respectively.

In another match between Uttranchal and Rajasthan that was played earlier in the day, Uttranchal blanked Rajasthan girls by a margin of 7-0.

For Uttranchal, Sheetal Rawat came out in her top form as she scored four goals for Uttranchal. Other goal scorers were Debala Devi, Mary Devi and Shikha Bisht who contributed with a goal each.

The half time scoreline showed a margin of 3-0 but their was no respite for Rajasthan as Uttranchal girls scored goal after goal to make it 7-0 in the end.
