Congressmen celebrate 61st birth day of Sonia

Patna, Dec 9 (UNI) The Bihar Congress today celeberated the 61st birthday of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and wished her a long and active life to lead the party to a ''new high'' in coming years.

Addressing a function organised here to mark the occasion, party's state president Sadanand Singh said Ms Gandhi had played a vital role in formulating the welfare programmes of the party, which later became the guidelines for the UPA government at the Centre. Her role in stregthening the culture and tradition of the country was immense, he added.

The National Students Union of India also organised a function here to mark the occasion where several senior congress leaders including attended.
