Mumbai, Dec 8 (UNI) Certain areas of the metropolis will face a 25 per cent water cut due to the leakage on a 72-inch-diameter pipe on the Eastern Express highway.
The areas affected fall under wards B, E, F North, F South and the adjoining areas of Chembur, R C Marg, Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, Tata Electric Company and RCF.
According to officials in the Municipal Corporation, the leakage is under repair and the water supply will return to normalcy by noon tomorrow.
The pressure of water will also be less near the junction of Sion-Panvel and Suman Nagar on the Central Suburbs, informed the officials.
The major water leakage has brought out the problems of the aging pipelines in the city again, majority of which are century old.
