'Pop music polluting Indian music tradition: Habeev Ali

Agra, Dec 8 (UNI) Pakistan's famous ghazal singer Ustad Habeev Ali Khan said pop music needs a check, as its singers were polluting the Indian music tradition.

''Indian music is incomparable across the world...but the recent pop music is polluting its purity,'' the ghazal master, who was in the city to view the monument of love Taj Mahal, said while addressing media.

The purity of the Indian music could be maintained, only if the pop music is presented nicely, Mr Khan added.

Drawing a parallel between the Taj Mahal and music, he said, as this monument of love would be remembered across the world for long, good music and singers were immortal.

The singers get most appreciated in India than any other country...Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali was most applauded in India than Pakistan, he claimed adding, ''I pray for the maintenance of peace between the two countries.
