Pinjore, Dec 8 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today expressed hope that the Pinjore Heritage Festival will soon become an international event like Surajkund Crafts Mela and Khajuraho Festival.
The chief Minister, who was visiting the second Pinjore Heritage Festival at Pinjore Gardens in Panchkula district, said that the event had already become popular among masses.
He further observed that the projection of the ancient heritage of 17th century, Pinjore Gardens, will get a big boost with the plans to get the track of Kalka-Shimla rail link on the world heritage list.
Mr Hooda had special praise for the team of Haryana Tourism led by the Minister of State for Tourism, Mrs. Kiran Choudhry for their efforts to bring Pinjore on the International Tourism Map.
Today's highlight was the scintillating Quwwali Muqabla by Nizami Brothers and Chanchal Bharti as part of the cultural evening.
The Festival which was inaugurated yesterday by Ms Chaudhury, would conclude tomorrow. Mayors from all over India were scheduled to visit the fair tomorrow and were expected to attend the cultural programme of Classical Dance Kuchipudi "Parampara" by Raja-Radha Reddy. Haryana Governor, A R Kidwai would be the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony. on 9th December.
To make the festival more interesting, various competitions have been organized which include Rangoli competition, face painting competition, sketch making competition, photography competition, Mehandi competition, Walk for senior citizens and Tatoo competitions.
