Panel discussion on Human Rights in India

Mumbai, Dec 8: A panel discussion on ''Human Rights: Tibet, Burma and India'' will be held here on December 10.

The discussion being jointly organised by Indian Committee for Cultural Freedom, Dharma Rain Centre and Friends of Tibet, will focus on the ongoing developments in the three countries and will be attended by experts on diplomatic affairs, rights activists and civil liberty groups.

Incidentally, December 10 is also the 18th anniversary of awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to the Dalai Lama.

Venerable Geshe Lhakdor (Official translator of HH the Dalai Lama), Dr Ramu Manivannan (Burma Expert), Yogesh Kamdar (National Vice President, People's Union for Civil Liberties), Vijay Crishna (Industrialist and Theatre Personality), and C A Kallianpur (National Coordinator, Friends of Tibet) will be participating in the discussion.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Aspi Mistry of Dharma Rain Centre.

In addition to the panel discussion, rights groups will also organise various programmes in the city to mark the day.

A function at Sharda Mangal Karyalaya at Dadar was also being organised by the Tibetan Residents Association in Collaboration with Dharma Rain Centre and Friends of Tibet, which will be addressed by Venerable Geshe Lhakdor.
