Lok Sabha adjourned over delimitation issue till 1400 Hrs
New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) Describing as ''biased and politically motivated''the fresh delimitation of constituencies for Parliament and assemblies, members of Janata Dal (U) and RJD today raised an uproar in the Lok Sabha forcing an adjournment till 1400 Hrs.
The issue of alleged faulty delimitation was raised by JD(U) leader Prabhunath Singh during Zero Hour saying that certain areas with Muslim majority in Bihar had deliberately been recommended as reserve constituencies.
In this context, the Sachar Commission report of the UPA Government favouring better treatment to the minority community for its uplift has been thrown to the wind, Mr Singh said.
He was immediately joined by the members of RJP and some of them came into the aisle and even walked towards the well of the House accusing the Delimination Commission of ' foul play'.
However, members of BJP, SP and the Left parties remained silent spectator to the ruckus which led to adjourment of the House till 1400 Hrs.
Earlier, Mr Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary (Cong) tried to raise the issue of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's statement on the killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh. But Speaker Somnath Chatterjee did not allow him in the absence of the member's prior notice to that effect.
