Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 8 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today urged Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to resolve the flash strike by loco-drivers of the Thriruvananthapuram Division.
Talking to newspersons here, he said that he had sent a fax message to Mr Prasad to find a better solution to end the strike at the earliest.
Mr Achuthanandan added that he had contacted Southern Raiway Chief at Chennai and asked him to hold talks with the union leaders to end the strike as early as possible.
The flash strike by a section of the Loco-drivers of the Thiruvananthapuram division, protesting against implementing new working hours, badly affected train services today.
The indefnite delay of trains followed by the flash strike, affected the commuters, particularly Ayyappa devotees.
The Southern Railway had increased the working hours of loco-drivers to nine from the existing eight hrs.
