Ludhiana, Dec 8 (UNI) Punjab's star soccer outfit JCT Phagwara blanked Churchill Brothers, Goa 3-0 in a league encounter of the 12th Professional National Football League (NFL) at the Guru Nanak stadium here today.
All the three goals were scored in the second half with JCT's foreign recruit Marcos opening the score in 51st minute.
Abdul Latif scored in the 57th minute to take the tally to 2-0, while JCT millmen's star striker Sunil Chhettri sound the the mark in the 69th minute for a convincing 3-0 victory.
With this win JCT now have 10 points after 3 wins and a draw while Churcill Brothers stay at six points.
The game opened with both the teams making a number of forays into each others territory. However, none could find the net in the first half.
The second half clearly belonged to the millmen as their rampaging strikers Marcos, Chhettri and Praveen Kumar breaching the opponents defence on a number of occasions.
In the 51st minute, Marcos collected the ball from Praveen's pass after beating an opposition defender and hammered a low shot to the left of the goalkeeper to give the homeside a lead.
Six minutes later, Abdul made it 2-0 followed by the final shot from Chhetri to wind up the tally at 3-0.
