Patiala, Dec 8 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir (J and K) dominated the proceedings against Goa on the opening day of the Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) here today at the Dhruv Pandove Cricket Stadium.
J and K won the toss and scored a healthy 284 in 86 overs.
Parvez Rasool played a fine innings of 79, which contained nine fours and a huge six.
A Pratap Singh was also in his elements, scoring 76 in a masterly fashion with the help of 11 boundaries.
Imran Haroon (23), Manik Gupta (22) and Ram Dayal (36) were the other batsmen to contribute to the respectable J and K total.
For Goa, Anish Velgee bowled exceedingly well to capture 5 wickets, giving away 60 runs, while N.Pawaskar also took 4 for 48.
In reply, Goa were reeling at 4 for 2 in 4.4 overs at close of play and are in trouble against the hostile J and K bowling attack.
Mohammad Muddassar captured both the wickets, conceding just 3 runs.
