Jammu, Dec 7 (UNI) Two women cricketers from Jammu and Kashmir will represent senior and junior categories in North Zone Cricket Championship to be played at Mumbai, official sources today said here.
They said the two women cricketers from J&K will be part of the North Zone squad, which was announced by the Selection Committee (Women) meeting held at New Delhi.
General Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) told UNI, ''this is an honour for the state that the two women cricketers, Meenu Slathia (senior group) and Shivanti (junior group), have been selected for the North Zone squad.'' ''Shivanti will be playing in junior category while Meenu Slathia will represent senior category of the North Zone Championship,'' Mr Khan said, adding that the girls along with other team, will attend a training-cum-fitness camp from December 10 at New Delhi.
The Junior Age Group North Zone team included Navdeep from Punjab (Captain), Rhea Jamwal from Delhi (vice captain), Shivani (Haryana), Reva (Punjab), Sneha (Delhi), Babli (HP), Shivanti (J&K), Nupur (Delhi-Wicketkeeper), Paprerna (Haryana), Sapna Randhawa (HP), Harman, Ritu and Pooja Sharma (Punjab).
Stand by: Mehak (Haryana), Aakriti (Punjab), Nayan Katoch (HP), Parveen Khan (Punjab), Jaswant Rai (Punjab) as Coach and Renuka Dua (Delhi) as cricket manager.
