Terrorist should not be identified with any country: Pranab
New Delhi, Dec 7 (UNI) External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee today said a terrorist should not be identified with any country or nationality and all nations should follow appropriate laws as per international convention to combat terrorism.
The External Affairs Minister was commenting on alleged links between some Malaysian Hindus and the LTTE.
He was speaking at a press conference after the 29th Session of the SAARC Council of Foreign Ministers here.
Asked to comment on the allegations made by the Malaysian government, the External Affairs Minister said India had taken up with Malaysia the matter of the people of Indian origin there.
However, regarding the alleged terrorist links, the Minister said it is international convention that all countries take appropriate action as per laws to counter terrorism.
''I do not think a terrorist should be identified with a country or known by his nationality...A terrorist is a terrorist,'' he added.
