Rival gang kills rowdy turned councillor

Mandya, Dec 7 (UNI) Rowdy turned Councillor Jadeja Ravi was today brutally hacked to death by a gang of five members in the city.

Police said that the rival gang members attacked him with lethal weapons while he was travelling back to Mandya from Eliyuru following his involvement in killing one of their member recently.

Ravi, who was elected to the Mandya Municipal Council from Congress ticket, was killed on the spot to avenge the death of their member.

Others accompanying him in the van were also injured in the incident on the National highway, they said.

The attackers had reportedly cut off his right hand and left it at the Samadhi of Cheeranahalli Shankar who was murdered recently.
