Pondy ex-servicemen hold demo

Puducherry, Dec 7 (UNI) The Ex-servicemen Association held a 'black flag' demonstration at the Kargil War Memorial on the occasion of Flag Day today to condemn the alleged corruption in Sainik Welfare Board here.

Led by Association General Secretary Narayanasamy, the ex-servicemen alleged the board had not taken any steps to provide house site pattas and alternative jobs to them.

The board had deposited the Flag Day collections to the tune of Rs two crore in banks as fixed deposit instead of utilising the amount for the welfare of the ex-service men which is benefitting some people.
