New traders body formed in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Dec 7 (UNI) A new state-level association for traders under the banner 'Traders Welfare Association- Tamil Nadu' (TWAT), which will strive to forge unity among traders in the state along with achieving other objectives, has been formed, its State President S Raju today said.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Raju said the traders' body had already been registered and it would fight for their rights and concessions and solve the problems faced by the members.

TWAT would educate its members about tax laws and other acts related to trade from time to time.

It proposed to enrol at least 2,000 members from each district in the state.

The association would conduct inter-state and industry trade fairs to facilitate interaction between the trading community.

The association would also provide educational assistance to needy students and medical aid to elders, he added.
