Moscow, Dec 7 (UNI) Russian nuclear agency chief Sergei Kiriyenko will head the new state Nuclear Power Corporation, Rosatom.
''I intend to propose that you head the Corporation,'' Russian President Vladimir Putin told Mr Kiriyenko at a meeting.
''A relevant decree will be signed in a few days,'' Russian news agencies quoted him as saying.
Mr Putin signed into law a bill on the Corporation on December 3. The Corporation would be formed on the basis of the Russian Federal Nuclear Power Agency (Rosatom) and will have the same name.
In line with the bill, the Corporation would be fully controlled by the federal government and incorporate the Atomenergoprom joint stock company, all civilian and military nuclear facilities and enterprises, research institutions, and organisations working in the sphere of nuclear and radioactive security.
