Haryana earmarks Rs 50 cr for tourism promotion
Chandigarh, Dec 7 (UNI) The Haryana Government has sanctioned a sum of Rs 50 crore for the promotion of tourism in Haryana in a big way.
This was stated by Minister of State for Tourism Kiran Choudhry while talking to the mediapersons at Panchkula today.
She said Haryana was a pioneer state in the country to start highway tourism and former Chief Minister Bansi Lal was the main instrument behind promoting highway tourism in the state.
To a question, Mrs Choudhry said during the Geeta Jayanti celebrations at Kurukshetra the foundation stone of a 57 tonne chariot of Lord Krishna would be laid.
She said the paucity of fund would not come in the way in organising the Geeta Jayanti celebrations at Kurukshetra from December 16 to 20.
