Bhopal, Dec 7 (UNI) In view of the Madhya Pradesh High Court today banning 'chakkajam' in the state, the main opposition Congress announced that it would convert tomorrow's statewide road block agitation -- demanding Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's resignation over the controversial dumper purchase case -- into sit-in and demonstrations.

''The chakkajam was to take place between 1000 and 1200 hrs at every town, block and district headquarters. A Bharatiya Janata Party worker submitted the plea in the High Court and that shows the ruling BJP was fearful of the Congress agitation,'' Congress state Vice-President and MLA Harvansh Singh, who also chairs the Dumper Agitation Coordination Committee, told reporters here.

He maintained that the Congress would continue protesting until Mr Chouhan put in his papers.

When asked why the Congress, which complained to the Lokayukta on the dumper purchase issue, was yet to bring proof before media, Congress state General Secretary Manak Agrawal said, ''it will be done soon.'' Justices Deepak Mishra and R K Gupta issued the order on a public interest petition moved by Nagarik Upbhokta Margadarshak Manch President P G Najpande.
