Yamunanagar, Dec 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said Urdu teachers would be appointed in those schools in the state where more than ten students would be interested to learn Urdu.
The Chief Minister also announced that Bilaspur town in this district would be made a sub-division.
He made this announcement while addressing a rally at Bilaspur, 15 km from here organised on the occasion anniversary of death of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar, today.
Paying rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said Dr Ambedkar was an embodiment of simplicity having multifaceted personality had struggled throughout his life to raise socio-economic status of the deprived people of society besides waging a relentless war against untouchability.
It was due to Dr Ambedkar's efforts that the rights OF the poor sections of society were protected and as a result they were being elected to Parliament as well as Vidhan Sabhas.
Giving details of the welfare measures and schemes implemented by the state government, the Chief Minister said the plan budget of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare Department had been enhanced to Rs 100 crore which was more than six times from the earlier budget of Rs 16.75 crore in the year 2004-05.
Similarly, the grant-in-aid amount being given to the members of Scheduled Castes and Vimukt Jatis had been raised from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000.
Besides, the amount to be given to those panchayats who which engaged in the welfare of SCs and BCs had also been raised from Rs 5000 to Rs 50,000.
The Chief Minister said Haryana Scheduled castes and Financial Developlment Corporation would provide loans amounting to Rs 87.65 crore to about 17,000 beneficiaries for setting up their own ventures. Besides, Haryana Backward and Economically Weaker Sections Corporation would provide loans amounting to Rs 47.50 crore to 7250 people during the current financial year.
Similarly, Dr Medhavi Chhatar Yojana had also been introduced for the meritoriuous students belonging to SCs and BCs.
