Chennai, Dec 6: Six leading clubs from the city will vie for honours in the 'Karlsburg-Presidency Chennai Clubs Invitation Tennis' tournament to be held for three-days from tomorrow.
Talking to newspersons here last night, tournament Director C Mahesh said for the first time the tournament, would be co-hosted by the Presidency Club and the prestigious Madras Cricket Club (MCC).
He said six teams would be divided into two groups and the top two from each group would qualify for semi finals.
The group matches would be of five doubles with best of 15 games for each match. The semi finals and the finals would be of best of three tie-break sets.
He said one set of group matches would be played at MCC and the other set at Presidency Club. Both the clubs would host one semifinal match, while the final would be played at Presidency Club.
The draw of lots was made by former Davis Cupper Ramesh Krishnan.
Following are the Groupings : Group A: MCC, Madras Club, Cosmopolitan Club.
Group B: Presidency Club, Gandhinagar Club, Madras Gymkhana.
