Rly Minister to inaugurate Mangalore-Bangalore express on Dec 8

Mangalore, Dec 6 (UNI) Union Minister for Railways Laloo Prasad Yadav will inaugurate the much awaited Mangalore-Bangalore Express train on December 8 and its regular service would actually begin from December 9.

The regular train service would start on the night of December 8 from Yeshawanthapur and December 9 from Mangalore.

According to the official train schedule released by the Southern Railways, the Mangalore-Bangalore Express train (6518) would leave Mangalore Central at 1945 hrs reach Mysore at 0405 hrs and reach Yeshwanthapur at 0740 hrs. The train leaving Yashawanthapur at 2035 hrs would reach Mysore at 0010 hrs and reach Mangalore Central at 0805 hrs.

The train would have 16 coaches-one air conditioned two-tier coach, one air conditioned three-tier coach, 6 sleeper class coaches, six general Second Class coaches and two luggage cum break vans.

Meanwhile, according to the railway sources, booking for almost all seats for the inaugural run already been reserved within two days after booking was opened on December 2.

Mr Yadav would flag off the inaugural special train on December 8 at 1230 hrs. Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur would be the chief guest while Mr. R Balu, Union Minister for State Railways would preside over the inaugural function.
