National Tax Convention to be held from December 8

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) The three-day National Tax Convention to evaluate the tax system in the country will be held at the Institute of Public adminstration (IIPA) here on december 8.

The 14th National Tax Convention is being organised by All India Federation of Tax Practitioners(AIFTP) jointly with Income Tax Bar Association(ITAT), Sales Tax Bar Association, Uttar Pradesh Tax Association, Delhi Tax Bar Association and Delhi Income Tax bar Association.

An important issue, ''Do We Get Value For Taxes'' is the aim of the convention. The Convention will be inaugurated on December 8 by Justice Arijit Pasayat, judge of the Supreme Court. Other judges of the apex court comprising Justices S H Kapadia, D K Jain, M Katju will be present. Chief Justice of Delhi High Court M K Sharma and Justice Rajesh Bindal of the Punjab and Haryana High Court will also be present in the sessions.

V Ramachandran, National President of AIFTP said that there will be five technical sessions which would discuss different aspects of Tax Laws and adminstration .A large number of Tax professionals, adminstrators,corporate tax managers will participate in the convention and the conclusions will be sent to the government for appropriate action.

Since the new Direct Taxes code is on the anvil, it is expected that the deliberations at this convention would be of great relevance, he added.Prominent lawyers from all over India will speak on various tax subjects at the convention.
