Chandigarh, Dec 6 (UNI) The Punjab government is planning to upgrade the Municipal Committees of Moga and Pathankot towns as Municipal Corporations.
A decision to this effect was taken by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal while chairing a meeting for the development of Moga town.
Mr Badal said that a comprehensive plan would also be chalked out for the overall development of Moga in terms of upgrading the existing road infrastructure and other civic amenities.
Mr Badal also directed the officers of the forest department to develop 20 acre land under protected forest in Moga as 'Sairgaha' for the public.
The Chief Minister said that a link road of 1.18 km length joining Ferozepur road with Amritsar road in Moga besides the Kingway Rajwaha of Sidhwan canal would be strengthened and widened to facilitate the free passage of heavy vehicular traffic bypassing the city.
