Mathura, Dec 6: Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) vice-president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh today said he was proud of the Babri Masjid demolition in Ayodhya 15 years ago. ''I am proud of the December 6 happening,'' Mr Singh maintained, while talking to reporters here.
''Even the archeological department's report states presence of Ram Temple remains at the disputed site. I am not talking hollow...I can prove it too,'' the BJP leader claimed.
Reproaching the Mayawati government in UP, he said ''supporting BSP was one of the major mistakes that BJP committed...I was always against it. Now, the party also regrets its decision.'' All vows of CM Mayawati made during the State Assembly poll campaigning have fallen like a pack of cards. Mafias and goons are ruling the roost. Even BSP MLAs are trapped in murder and rape cases, Mr Singh charged.
He further reiterated Uma Bharti's return would strengthen BJP, which needs to make a positive approach in this regard.
