I am being subjected to a media trial, Anand tells HC

New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) Senior lawyer R K Anand, facing contempt charges of influencing a witness in the infamous BMW case, today told the Delhi High Court that there was nothing incriminatory against him but he had been falsely subjected to a media trial.

Arguing before a bench comprising Justices B Madan Lokur and Manmohan Sarin, Mr Anand said media was trying to drag him in the case whereas the same witness, Sunil Kulkarni, had lied to the same television channel which had conducted a sting against him earlier.

The matter, which is being heard on a day-to-day basis, will continue tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the bench directed NDTV to supply by December 12 the unedited tapes of the episode aired recently.

Mr Anand and prosecution lawyer I U Khan are facing trial on contempt charges levelled against them for influencing a witness in the BMW case and lowering the dignity of court.
