Foregin airline services likely from Karippur from January

Kozhikode, Dec 6 (UNI) The Union Government will consider on a priority basis introduction of foreign airline services from Karippur International Airport in Kerala from January 2008.

This was conveyed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to a State delegation, comprising Union Minister E Ahamed, MPs and representatives of the Malabar Chamber of Commerce, an MCC release here said today.

The delegation had submitted a memorandum to the Prime Minister about the problems being faced by passengers following the frequent cancellation of flight sevices by the State-owned carriers Air India and Indian to West Asian destinations, it said.

The delegation included Messrs M P Veerendra Kumar, N N Krishna Das, A P Abdulla Kutty and Pannian Raveendran (all MPs), former State Ministers M K Muneer and V K Ibrahim Kunhu.
