Patna, Dec 6 (UNI) A arrest warrant issued by the Chief Judicial Magistrate(CJM) of Patna last month is pending against Azad Gandhi, an MLC from graduate constituency here.
Official sources here today said the warrant was issued by CJM Raghvender Prasad Singh in connection with a case related to manhandling of an Additional District Magistrate(ADM) and interrupting him to discharge his official duty on the prayer of Patna police on November 1.
Earlier, the Court of district and sessions judge had rejected Gandhi's anticipatory bail petition on October 30. The FIR was lodged by Avdhesh Kumar ADM (Law and Order) Patna.
According to the FIR, when the ADM who was in-charge of preparing the voters list of Graduate and Teachers constituency was discharging his official duty, Mr Gandhi along with his supporters interrupted him using abusive languages. When Executive Magistrate Anil Kumar tried to pacify the matter he was assaulted by the Gandhi's supporters, the FIR further stated.
The incident took place on October 15 and an FIR was lodged at Gandhi Maidan police station the same day.
