Chhota Rajan's henchman convicted

Mumbai, Dec 6 (UNI) The special MCOCA court here today sentenced Vishnu Pilankar, an aide of underworld don Chhota Rajan, to five years' Rigorous Imprisonment holding him guilty of attempting to murder one person three years ago.

Special MCOCA court judge M R Puranik also imposed a fine of Rs five lakh on Pilankar or face an additional year's imprisonment.

Special public prosecutor Kalpana Chavan said on September 16, 2004, Prakash More, employed at the construction site office of builder Nanadkumar Hirchandani at Andheri, was accosted by eight people who wanted the construction activity to be halted.

''Bhai ne kaam bandh karneko bola hai (Bhai has ordered stoppage of construction work)'', they had told More at revolver point and later assaulted him.

More had identified the accused during the indentification parade and Pilankar too had confessed to the crime during interrogation.
