Chandraswami allowed to go abroad
New Delhi, Dec 6 (UNI) A city court today allowed controversial godman Chandraswami to go abroad for one month from December 20.
Chandraswami had filed an application before the court stating that he is a spiritual person and he needs to go abroad to meet his devotees.
Allowing the appeal, Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sanjeev Jain allowed him to go abroad.
Chandraswami has been facing trial before the court for an offence under Section 23 of Foreign Contributions Regulation Act 1976.
It is alleged that in year 1992-93, Chandraswami and his associate had received foreign contribution of more than Rs two crore in the name of Vishwa Dharma Yatan trust.
