Shimla, Dec 6 (UNI) Promising a clean and transparent governance for a self-reliant Himachal Pradesh, the BJP manifesto says the party will consider administrative exigencies for making new districts as well as reorganising the old ones.
Addressing mediapersons after releasing the party's manifesto, state party president Jai Ram Thakur said employment generation and qualitative technical education would be its priority besides providing better employment opportunities.
He said the party would work towards making Himachal Pradesh a self reliant state by carefully exploiting the available opportunities in power and tourism sector.
Production of hydro generation would be stepped up and the royalty earned would help to spare adding to the tax burden of the people, he said, adding that micro-hydel projects would be reserved for Himachalis only.
The party, he said, would not allow multinationals and big industrial houses to set up their base in the state, while rationalising the tax barriers at the state's entry points.
Reacting to the party's stand on the formation of new districts and regularisation of encroachments that had faced resistance during the tenure of the previous government, he said need based administrative reforms would be carried out, while considering reorganisation of the older ones.
