Youth stabbed to death in drunken revelry

New Delhi, Dec 5 (UNI) A youth was stabbed to death by his friend in a drunken revelry in the Azadpur area of north-west district.

According to the police, Rajesh, 21, suffered deep gashes when his friend Vineet (24) knifed him last night.

''Rajesh and Vineet, both residents of Salimarbagh, went to attend a marriage in Azadpur last night. During the party, both of them got drunk and started fighting while dancing,'' the police said.

However, the matter was resolved only after the guest present therepacified them.

''Late in the night, when Rajesh was about to leave for his residence in Shalimar Bagh, Vineet returned with a knife and attacked him on the shoulder and the stomach,'' the police added.

The victim suffered serious injuries and was immediately rushed to Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries this morning.

A case has been registered at the Adarsh Nagar police station but the accused is absconding.
