Three held with 200 kg poppy husk
Jalandhar, Dec 5 (UNI) Police today arrested three persons and recovered nearly 200 kg of poppy husk from their possession, from a dhaba near Nizamdinpur village on Jalandhar-Pathankot highway.
Police said the accused, identified as Sukhwinder Singh, Surender Kumar and Jagdish Kumar, were all residents of Gaiharimandi village under Jandiala police station.
A raid was conducted at the dhaba, on prior information that the dhaba owner was involved in smuggling of narcotics, police said adding that seven bags containing nearly 200 kg of poppy husk were seized during the raid.
A case under sections 15, 61, 85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Bhogpur Police Station, police said.
