Dharamshala, Dec 5 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj today accused the UPA government led by the Congress at the Centre of "dividing the country and sowing the seeds of division in 1947".

Addressing a public meeting at Jassur in Nurpur assembly segment of this district, she took a strong exception to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's reported statement in the Parliament that Muslims had the first right on the national resources.

Ms Swaraj said that the Prime Minister should know that the poor people of the country had the first right on the resources and not people of a particular religion only.

''The country is heading towards another partition under the Congress rule,'' She claimed.

Lashing out at the UPA government in the Centre and the Virbhadra Singh government in the state for rising prices of essential commodities, she said where the Congress governments had failed, the BJP's NDA government come out with flying colours.

She accused the state Congress government of failing to fulfill its own manifesto, in which they had promised to provide job to one member of each family in the state.

Besides, it also failed on constituting labour welfare board and health insurance schemes for the workers, she said.

She said the BJP had promised to increase woman reservation from 33 to 50 per cent in panchayti raj institutions and local bodies in the state like other BJP ruled states.
