Saurashtra, Hyderabad benefitted

Lucknow, Dec 5 (UNI) A slender lead of only three runs in the first innings for Hyderabad bore more fruits on the last day of the four day Cooch Behar league match over Asom here today.

In the other match, Saurashtra was also benefitted on the basis of 69 runs first innings leadover Tamil Nadu (TN). At the end of the league matches here, both Hyderabad and Saurashtra collected three points against one each by Asom and TN resspectively in drawn matches.

At the chowk stadium, medium pacer Hardik, who claimed both the wickets of TN, which fell last evening- increased the innings tally to 6 at a cost of 60 runs.

In a total of 284 runs, spkipper N Einstein (60) and N Suraj (75) resisted well to Hardik's accurate bowling otherwise Saurashtra could have achieved outright victory.

Both the captains agreed to call off the match after seven mandatory overs. At the end of the game, Saurashtra scored 63 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in chasing a possible target of 116 runs.

In the other match at LDA stadium, Hyderabad after getting a slender lead of mere three runs on the basis of first innings,failed to pack the innings of Asom on the final day's play.

Rishav Das (55), before becoming the victim of Yuvraj, added 85 runs with Surapam Purkaystya for the seventh wicket in 91 minutes, the later remained unbeaten till the end of the game on 76 runs.
