PRISM president Vanlalruata said here today, ''The NEC had sanctioned Rs 140 lakh, Rs 200 lakh and Rs 50 lakh in 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2005-06 respectively, amounting to Rs 390 lakhs.
However, the state PWD maintained that it had received Rs 45.99 lakh, Rs 45 lakh, Rs 181.60 lakh and Rs 39 lakh in 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05 and 2006-07 respectively, totalling Rs 311.59 lakh.'' The difference, Rs 78.41 lakhs, between the sanctioned amount and expenditure amount indicated gross misutilisation of public funds, the PRISM alleged in its FIR.
''This is our twelfth FIR to the ACB. But as far as misutilisation of public money is concerned, it is only the tip of the iceberg. We are going to probe the root of the misappropriation,'' the PRISM president added.
